The Agriculture group has been at the forefront of the dynamic and sustainable

industry of agriculture for over 30 years. It is one of the leading agribusiness

organizations, serving the needs of more than 300 food and agriculture businesses.

The client’s portal serves as an interface between producers of pork, consumers and

industry experts globally through a platform that delivers up-to-date information.

Users of the portal can search for information, nd reference material and review fact

sheets. They can also seek out events related to the pork industry.  The objective here

is to collaborate with its clients, map strategies and goals, thereby aiming to win in a

dynamic and competitive industry.

 

Business challenges

 

The current application’s objective was to serve a rich user experience on their

portal. The client was experiencing problems in the lines of less usability and

ineective content management system. This was comprehended with absence of

advanced search and paucity of surveys & reports.

 

Furthermore, there were other technical issues, which fell short of expectations as

outlined below:

The client needed a solution, which could improve usability, enhance usage of

content management system, incorporate advanced search, and provide provision

Solution

 

Migration to Liferay 5.2 was the most realizable option to meet the overcome the

challenges for the client. This platform could support Content Management and we

had an option to create surveys. The usability feature of the application was

improved. The response time of search was reduced to 5-10 seconds from a tall

order of 45-50 sec.
